Contemplative with spikes of energy, her suite of twelve piano pieces was inspired by her haiku-like poem "Twelve Tastings," first published in Irises, The University of Canberra Chancellor's Vice-International Poetry Prize, 2017.

The album
concludes with the exhilarating "If I Could Fly."

The garden with its flowers, its weeds,

and its secret visitors share "unwritten words."

The influences confessed by an artist may not be the real ones. For this reason, Anna only suggests her appreciation for Bach’s getting in and out of melodic tangles; Faure’s trick of shaping his tunes like hills made out of milkweed; and John Luther Adams’ consecration of mellifluous harmony.
